Everything is better with Pirates

Hi everyone,

Now this is one of my favorite games in the world.

Pirates has been around for ages and I’ve been playing more variations of this game than I can count. This one I actually only found by chance since it originally came into my fingers during a time, when i was totally hooked on Ultima Online. It is so much fun, that I can play it over and over again and it actually aged pretty well, which I lead back to the comic like graphic, that does not give away how old the game actually is.

There is also extremely little frustration factor around, which is great, considering how buggy games tend to be these days. That is not saying, the game is without bugs. But it’s nothing severe.

The only real letdown for this game is the missing possibility for mods. There is a handful but apparently it is not really keen to be modded, which is a pitty. I could imagine a lot of different approaches to enhance the gameplay, which we have seen from other games.

But before I bore you to death, let’s set sails and have someone walk the plank… Arrrr!

Oh and btw. this is from various live streams on twitch. From my beginner days there. 😉

Sims Medieval Season 1

Why this game?

I love The Sims Medieval. Despite the limitation of the actual gameplay and its focus on questing. Once you got the jist of it, it is pretty straight forward and you still have a lot of possibilities.

This series

In this particular season, I held the interaction with you, the audience, relatively limited. That starts in season 2 though 😉

Let’s Play The Realms of Arkania – Blade of Destiny

Blade of Destiny is a turn based role playing game from the 90s, based on a popular pen & paper RPG “The Dark Eye”. It is the first part of a triology, focussing on the events around the orcish attacks on the realms of man, which was a historic event in the gaming world. There are numerous paper based adventures around these and 3 PC games in total.

But I got my hands on the 2nd part of the series first and the “step back” in these days was actually pretty disappointing. However, I made it and playing it once, twice… I guess, something like a dozen times was a huge thing for me back in the day.

Now Crafty studios has created a remake and I only touched it, when it was already patched up to a level, where it was playable, which apparently in the beginning, it was not.
